GRI Event Organizer Sector Supplement
GRI (
http://www.globalreporting.org) a non-profit organization, based in Amsterdam, which has pioneered the development of the world’s most widely used sustainability reporting framework, has developed a specific report for the event industry, with UFI as a Member of the “advisory group” for this project.
The first set of guidelines, available here (
https://www.globalreporting.org/reporting/sector-guidance/event-organizers/Pages/default.aspx) were launched in January 2012 and a simplified version (level C template) is currently under development.
We expect to be able to launch this template around the upcoming GRI Conference which will be held on 22-24 May 2013 in Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
Several members of the UFI Sustainable Development Committee will join this “sustainability leadership event of 2013” (…) where are expected “over 1500 leaders and practitioners from business, finance, accountancy, consultancy, civil society, government, labor and academia in discussing the key challenges and opportunities on the path to a more sustainable future”.
